If the AI jobs paradox is real, we cannot find AI talent, we cannot train fast enough, and we cannot afford to wait. What actually fixes this?
Potential solutions:
- Industry consortiums
- Government transition programs
- Hiring for potential
- Market correction
What are you seeing work in your organizations?
I am advocating for industry consortiums. I am part of a CTO network launching AI Engineering Collaborative. 15 companies committed, launching September 2026. If you are interested, DM me.
Count me in for the consortium. I also want to add apprenticeships. I have run this with 8 people over 5 years. Success rate: 7 out of 8. Mentorship is how we build a sustainable industry.
Whatever solutions we build must intentionally address equity. I am piloting AI Equity Fellows Program targeting underrepresented groups. Launch Q3 2026. Who is with me on building equitable pathways?
The market correction is coming. Q3-Q4 2026: first wave of AI did not deliver realizations. 2027: market normalizes. The answer is all of the above plus market correction. I am optimistic this will be temporary.
