Platform infrastructure justifies 12-18 months. But should enable fast feature iteration, not justify slow development.

Every 6-month increment should be shippable:

  • Not finished or perfect
  • But delivering user value

Each independently valuable. If market shifts at month 12, you’ve delivered value.

Bottom line: Long strategy + short validation cycles. 2-4 year vision with 6-month shippable increments and quarterly customer revalidation. Willingness to pivot or kill based on data.

Every stage gate should include customer revalidation, not just technical milestones. Ask: Do users still need this? Would they adopt what we’ve built? Has market shifted?

Without this, you might hit technical gates and ship a product nobody wants.
