- IDE Plugins (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Continue)
- CLI Tools (Amazon Q CLI, custom scripts)
- Cloud Console Integration (AWS Q Developer in console)
- Agentic Developer Portals (centralized broker pattern)
Each pattern seems equivalent on the surface—they all give developers AI access. But they have radically different implications for security, cost control, and developer experience.
Why This Matters More Than You Think
